Advocacy plan
In project 2 advocacy plan I was to develop a system to help Little City better track and share information that is happening within the industry/ Agency/ State and Federal that affects their organization and residents/families. This project came at a much needed time for Little City. Due to high turnover rates in leadership it became increasingly difficult for them to keep up with much-needed information to successfully onboard new employees.
To explain further using a real example that I experienced at Little City… An individual in leadership was to end his employment within a week's time. Nobody at the organization has gotten around to discussing all the fostered relationships and connections that he has developed for Little City. Without there being advocacy documentation in place all the fostered relationships will go to the waste. At the end without this documentation process, When a new hire takes over they won't have any idea which associations and organizations they should keep up with for Little City.
To develop this advocacy plan, I met with the executive director, chief development officer, and worked alongside Wayne who is the Director of Corporate Development & Governmental Affairs to strategize different methods to make this advocacy plan possible. I suggested that they should invest in a CRM software to easily manage this transition. In the end, we had decided to develop an Excel spreadsheet due to it being cost-effective to carry out this advocacy plan. If this spreadsheet is successful they would consider a CRM software in the future.

This is the spreadsheet that I created for Little City. If you look at the spreadsheet, under column A this lists out all the information needed for leadership at Little City to be able to describe the association that they are a part of. I made this document as user friendly as possible. I implemented drop-down features to provide consistency throughout the spreadsheet and added a description for each category so when populating the form everyone would know what to document, again staying consistent. If you take a look at the bottom of the spreadsheet you will see key members and their respective worksheets. This is where they will track specifics of involvement such as meeting dates and notes of the associations they are members of.
The second portion of this project involves populating that data into the spreadsheet. I was unable to get to the portion of this project due to current events. I have provided Wayne with all the tools needed to populate this spreadsheet on his own.
Overall, This spread sheet will assist Little City in taking full advantage of their advocacy efforts, training, collaboration, opportunities to get more involved and to become more of a visible advocacy voice.
